RVTI Showcases RV Technician Career at Texas School Counselor Conference

The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) highlighted the growing demand for RV service technicians during the Lone Star State School Counselor Association Conference held November 2–4 in Frisco, Texas.

The event provided RVTI an opportunity to engage directly with school counselors and administrators, introducing them to the career pathways available through the RV technician training program.

By attending the conference, RVTI aimed to raise awareness about technician career opportunities and encourage schools to integrate RVTI’s training into their curricula.

Through this approach, students interested in skilled trades can learn about the RV industry early in their education.

Counselors who received information from RVTI staff can guide high school students toward potential careers in the RV service sector. The institute’s program enables students to gain valuable hands-on training and, in some cases, earn Level 1 certification before graduation.

Earning certification before entering the workforce gives students a head start in a growing industry that continues to face technician shortages nationwide. RVTI’s outreach to educational professionals supports its broader mission to close the gap in trained RV service technicians.

The Frisco conference followed a series of similar initiatives across the country, including counselor conferences in Dillon, Colorado, and Long Beach, California. Each event reinforces RVTI’s national effort to build awareness and establish partnerships with schools.

Earlier this fall, RVTI announced two major education milestones—its first community college partnership with Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas, and its inaugural high school program with the EPIC Campus in Littleton, Colorado.

These partnerships are part of RVTI’s long-term strategy to integrate its curriculum into secondary and postsecondary institutions, preparing students for immediate employment in the RV industry.

Representatives from Navarro College joined RVTI at the Frisco conference to assist at the booth and share insights about their collaboration with the institute.

“We enjoyed this latest opportunity to network with school counselors and share information on the RV technician career,” Halle Howard, RVTI Account Specialist, said in a News and Insights report of RVIA on November 6. “We also enjoyed having Navarro College staff at the conference with us, and we thank them for their support.”

Howard emphasized the importance of outreach at counselor events to expand awareness of the RV technician career path.

“Counselors and high school students alike may not be familiar with the RV tech career, so we recognize the importance of attending these events to keep spreading the word and building our partnerships within the education community,” she said.

Howard added that RVTI looks forward to seeing continued success with both Navarro College and EPIC Campus as more schools adopt the program.

“These conferences are a great way to start that conversation and give us a platform to continue building the next generation of RV technicians,” Howard said.

Through continued participation in educator-focused events, RVTI reinforces its commitment to connecting education and industry while supporting the long-term sustainability of the RV service workforce.
