The RV Technical Institute, in partnership with Mike Thompson’s RV Super Store, participated in the 2025 American School Counselor Conference held last week in Long Beach, California.
The event drew more than 3,500 attendees, including school counselors, administrators, and education professionals from across the country.
The institute’s presence at the annual conference was part of its ongoing effort to promote the certified RV technician career path to educators who guide students in post-graduation planning.
Through conversations and educational materials, RVTI showcased how its curriculum can be incorporated into high school programs. This integration would allow students to begin their training while in school and potentially graduate with a Level 1 RV technician certification.
“We had an impactful week educating school administrators, counselors, and other staff on the RV technician career path,” Halle Howard, RVTI’s account specialist, said in a News and Insights report of RVIA.
“We hope that they will take this information and share it with interested high school students,” Howard added.
Howard also emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about RV technician careers, particularly among students who may not be aware of alternatives to traditional college tracks.
Howard noted that events like this help fill the industry’s technician shortage and support RVers across the country.
Mike Thompson’s RV Super Store played a pivotal role in the conference by providing an RV display at the Institute’s booth. The unit served as a hands-on visual aid, helping counselors and administrators better understand the technical skills involved in RV maintenance and repair.
“We would also like to thank Mike Thompson’s RV Super Store for providing the RV display,” Howard added. “It captured attention at the booth and helped our team showcase the RV technician skilled trade.”
Participation in events like the American School Counselor Conference remains an important component of the institute’s outreach strategy. The goal is to ensure that accurate, up-to-date information about RV careers reaches educators in a position to influence student decisions.
