RVTI Launches Spanish Certification Exams to Broaden RV Technician Workforce

The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) has launched Spanish testing options for its Level 1 and Level 2 certification exams, marking a significant step toward expanding accessibility and inclusion in the RV service technician field.

The initiative will be followed by the release of corresponding Spanish-language study guides in December 2025.

The program aims to strengthen the RV industry’s technician workforce by addressing one of its longstanding challenges—recruiting and retaining qualified service professionals.

By offering certification exams in Spanish, RVTI is opening the door to a broader range of candidates, helping to meet growing service demands nationwide.

This initiative is designed to attract new technicians while also supporting existing Spanish-speaking professionals who have yet to obtain official certification due to language barriers.

The move aligns with RVTI’s mission to ensure a well-trained and skilled workforce capable of maintaining the highest standards of RV service and repair.

“The launch of RVTI’s Spanish Level 1 and Level 2 testing and study guides is a pivotal moment for Blue Compass RV and the industry. The industry has a critical need for more certified technicians,” Jon Ferrando, founder, chief Executive officer and president of Blue Compass RV, said in a News and Insights report of RVIA.

“At Blue Compass RV, our significant investment in technician training will be further elevated by this initiative, which enables us to certify even more of our talented Spanish-speaking technicians. This will create greater career opportunities for them while elevating service standards for our customers and the industry as a whole,” Ferrando added.

Ferrando’s comments reflect a broader industry recognition of the importance of technical education and certification accessibility.

Many RV dealers and service centers are seeking to increase the number of certified technicians to improve efficiency, reduce repair times, and enhance customer satisfaction.

RVTI’s expansion to include Spanish-language materials serves two primary objectives: to recruit new talent into the field and to formally certify existing Spanish-speaking technicians already working within the industry.

At the same time, experienced technicians who have been informally trained now have a path to official certification.

“We recognize the immense talent and potential within the Spanish-speaking community, both for new recruits and current RV technicians who have been seeking this certification option,” Sharonne Lee, vice president of RVTI, explained.

“Offering our Level 1 and Level 2 tests and study guides in Spanish is a fundamental step in ensuring that the RV technical career path is truly inclusive and accessible to everyone. This is a direct investment in the future quality of RV service across the country,” Lee added.

Spanish-language testing will be available both in-person and online, providing flexibility for learners and employers. Authorized learning partners and subscription-based training locations will also have access to the new materials.
