RVTI and Truma to Host Advanced Water Heater Training in Elkhart on July 7

The RV Technical Institute (RVTI), in collaboration with Truma, will hold an advanced technician training session on July 7, in Elkhart, Indiana.

The session will focus on the Truma AquaGo on-demand water heater and the Truma Combi 2-in-1 furnace and water heater.

Enrollment is limited to 20 participants, and registration opens six weeks prior to the course, on May 26.

The training is offered at no cost and provides participants with 8 hours of credit toward the RVTI’s Level 3 Appliance Specialist certification.

This certification emphasizes key RV components such as furnaces, instantaneous water heaters, and combination units, supporting technician growth and industry quality standards.

According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, the July 7 session is one of several scheduled training opportunities throughout the year. Additional 2025 courses are set for August 25, September 15, October 27, and December 15.

Registration for each class opens six weeks in advance, allowing interested technicians time to prepare and apply.

Technicians must hold at least a Level 2 RV Technical Institute certification to be eligible for enrollment. This prerequisite ensures the training begins at an advanced level, enabling deeper instruction and minimizing time away from dealerships.

The course will take place at the RV Technical Institute’s facility in Elkhart, the central hub of the RV manufacturing industry. The location provides technicians with access to industry-leading instruction and resources in one of the most prominent RV regions in the country.

Limiting the class size to 20 allows for more hands-on experience and greater engagement with instructors. This approach aligns with RVTI’s mission to deliver quality training that contributes to workforce readiness across the RV service sector.

By earning credit toward Level 3 Appliance Specialist certification, technicians enhance their credentials and increase their ability to service complex systems.

In addition to training technicians, RVTI encourages vendors and suppliers interested in hosting future sessions to contact Vice President of Education and Operations Sharonne Lee.
