RVTI and RV Learning Center Launch Survey to Identify Training Needs in Service and Fixed Operations

The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) and the Mike Molino RV Learning Center have partnered to launch a new survey designed to identify training and certification needs among RV service technicians and fixed operations management professionals. The survey, conducted by Cairn Consulting Group, will remain open until October 17.

According to RVTI Executive Director Curt Hemmeler, the information collected will play a direct role in shaping future education and certification programs.

“The insights gathered will guide efforts to boost shop productivity, reduce Repair Event Cycle Time (RECT) for RV consumers, and increase employee engagement across the service network,” Hemmeler said.

The initiative is also aimed at ensuring training programs remain relevant to the realities faced by dealerships and service centers. Ally Brown, education director of the RV Learning Center, emphasized confidentiality in the process.

“All responses are strictly confidential and will be released only in the aggregate,” she said. “The results will support improvements to both online training and certification programs for fixed operations professionals.”

Both organizations see the survey as an opportunity to address workforce development challenges at a time when the RV industry continues to serve a growing consumer base.

By identifying areas where training gaps exist, the survey’s findings may help businesses increase service efficiency, improve staff retention, and meet customer expectations more effectively.

For business owners, participating in the survey represents a chance to influence the design of future programs that can directly impact profitability and operations.

Improved training may lead to shorter service times, better-equipped staff, and a stronger customer experience—factors that can reduce strain on service departments and contribute to long-term growth.

The RV Technical Institute, which offers training and certification programs for RV technicians, and the Mike Molino RV Learning Center, which provides professional development resources for fixed operations professionals, have long focused on workforce development within the industry.

Their joint effort highlights the importance of ongoing investment in employee training to meet the needs of both businesses and RV consumers.
