The RV Industry Association (RVIA) reported that July 2025 shipments reached 22,633 units, reflecting a 6.1% decline from the 24,116 units shipped in July 2024.
Despite the monthly dip, total shipments for the year are up 5.2 percent, with 213,338 units delivered to date.
The July results show that while shipment levels eased compared to last year, demand remains resilient, supported by strong consumer interest in outdoor travel.
RVIA said the industry continues to see steady participation from families and individuals choosing RV travel for its flexibility and affordability.
“This summer, forty-four million Americans are prioritizing time outdoors with family and friends as they made RVing their vacation of choice,” President & CEO Craig Kirby said in the News and Insights report of RVIA.
“And our latest research shows RVing will remain popular as we head into fall with affordability topping the list of reasons people plan to go on an RV adventure,” Kirby added.
Towable RVs, which include conventional travel trailers, posted 19,686 shipments in July, down 8.7% from the same month in 2024.
In contrast, motorhome shipments rose in July, with 2,947 units recorded, representing a 15.3% increase compared to last year.
Park Model RVs, often used for seasonal or long-term stays, also registered gains. Shipments reached 316 units in July, up 5.7% from the prior year.
According to its website, RVIA, with offices in the Washington, D.C. area and Elkhart, Ind., has been serving as the leading trade voice of the $140 billion RV industry for 50 years.
Representing more than 500 manufacturers, suppliers, and aftermarket companies, the association’s members produce 98% of all RVs made in the United States and about 60% of RVs manufactured worldwide.
At its core, the association’s mission is to grow and expand the RV market while fostering a positive consumer experience. This mission is carried out by advocating for favorable business conditions, advancing innovation, and providing industry data and market research.
The association also provides oversight and quality assurance by conducting unannounced inspections of member manufacturing plants. This ensures adherence to industry-approved standards and supports the continuous improvement of RV products.
Beyond advocacy and standards, RVIA invests in growing the consumer base through the Go RVing awareness campaign, which promotes the RV lifestyle to new and diverse audiences.
