The RV Dealers Association (RVDA) and Care Camps Foundation have partnered to launch “Compete for Kids!,” a nationwide fundraising initiative aimed at supporting children with cancer.
The campaign, which begins in September during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, invites RV dealerships across the United States to raise funds for pediatric oncology camps.
The initiative encourages participating dealerships to compete in raising money, with each location developing unique and creative fundraising strategies.
The goal is to generate support and awareness while securing critical funding for medically supervised camps that serve children diagnosed with cancer and their families.
“As an RVDA board-approved in-kind charity, Care Camps Foundation plays a vital role in providing children with cancer—and their families—a traditional camp experience that fosters community and a sense of belonging,” said RVDA President Phil Ingrassia.
“RVDA is pleased to stand alongside many others in the RV and outdoor hospitality industries to support Care Camps Foundation and the organization’s life-changing work,” Ingrassia added.
Jenna Berneck, development director at Care Camps Foundation, also emphasized the collective impact of the initiative.
“The Compete for Kids campaign is a powerful example of the RV industry coming together to make a difference,” she said.
“RV dealerships across the country are joining forces to raise critical funds that send kids with cancer to these magical camps—where they can experience joy, hope, healing, and friendship in the great outdoors,” she added.
Care Camps Foundation is a national nonprofit solely dedicated to funding pediatric oncology camps throughout the United States and Canada. The foundation offers traditional outdoor experiences adapted for children undergoing treatment, while also providing support for their families.
In 2024, Care Camps Foundation awarded $2 million in funding to 117 pediatric oncology camps. The camps collectively served more than 41,000 children living with cancer and their families, offering opportunities for connection, healing, and recreation in natural settings.
RVDA’s support reflects the broader industry’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. As a national trade association, RVDA promotes educational initiatives, legislative advocacy, and programs that enhance the RV experience.
