RV Technician Training Set for April 28 Ahead of Texas Campground Convention

A hands-on RV technician training session will be held Monday, April 28, in Conroe, Texas, ahead of the Texas Association of Campground Owners’ (TACO) Spring Meeting and Trade Show.

Organized in collaboration with the RV Technical Institute (RVTI), the eight-hour course is designed to equip campground operators with essential RV repair and troubleshooting skills.

According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, the training session will take place at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Conroe from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time. The cost to attend is $50. According to event organizers, spots remain available, and early registration is encouraged.

The workshop precedes the TACO Spring Meeting and Trade Show, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, and Wednesday, April 30, at the same location. The annual gathering brings together campground owners, operators, and industry partners for networking and professional development.

Participants in Monday’s session will receive instruction on basic RV systems, including electricity, water, LP gas, HVAC, and more. The training will also cover routine troubleshooting for issues such as tripped breakers, faulty antennas, and malfunctioning slide rooms or awnings.

“Park operators are often the first people to tend to a guest experiencing technical difficulties with their RV,” said RVTI Executive Director Curt Hemmeler.

“This session will teach the basics from RVTI’s gold standard RV technician training curriculum and will help get guests safely back on the road and enhance campground customer service,” Hemmeler added.

Instruction will also focus on cable TV and satellite connections, generator switch diagnostics, jack and landing gear troubleshooting, and chassis and towing assessments. Each topic is intended to give campground operators a working knowledge to respond effectively to common guest concerns.
