RV Technical Institute Welcomes New Account Specialist Katelin Richardson

The RV Technical Institute (RVTI) welcomed Katelin Richardson as their new account specialist, reinforcing their mission to provide training for RV maintenance and repair.

Richardson brings experience from her background in customer-facing roles. “I’ve worked in customer service my whole career,” Richardson said. “My most recent role was working for a staffing agency. I was a personnel supervisor there and helped people find jobs.”

In her new role at RVTI, she will work alongside the recruitment team to educate potential candidates about the RV technician career path and assist interested individuals in starting their careers in the RV industry.

“I’ll help interested individuals get started in the RV industry as technicians. I’ll also be working with our Authorized Learning Partners to make sure they have all the resources necessary to successfully implement our training and certification career paths within their organizations,” she said in a press release.

According to its website, RVTI offers a hands-on, competency-based program divided into four certification levels, covering theory, application, specialties training, and troubleshooting. Each level builds on the previous one, ensuring participants gain skills needed to become RV service technicians.

In Level 1, both current and future RV technicians learn about and demonstrate knowledge in areas such as propane, electrical, plumbing, appliances, body, generator, and chassis systems.

Richardson expressed her enthusiasm for the role, highlighting the affordability and short duration of the training program. “I’m super excited about this role. Since this is a fairly new program, there are still endless opportunities for our team to get out there and tell people what we’re offering— and at an affordable price. This is a win all the way around because people can participate in inexpensive training for a short period of time and gain the tools to make a career out of this.”

The demand for skilled RV technicians has been on the rise, and the economic impact of the RV industry is substantial. The RVs Move America Economic Impact Study reveals that the industry contributes $140 billion annually, supporting nearly 680,000 jobs and generating over $13.6 billion in federal, state, and local taxes.

As Richardson settles into her new position, she looks forward to meeting with various groups to promote RVTI programs and the career opportunities available in the RV industry. “I’m excited to meet with people—whether it be at high schools, technical schools, or the general public—and educate them on this program. It’s a great opportunity to start a rewarding career.”
