RV Technical Institute, Truma Launch Advanced Training on Water and Heating Systems

The RV Technical Institute (RVTI), in partnership with Truma, will hold its October advanced training session for technicians later this month, focusing on the Truma AquaGo on-demand water heater and the Truma Combi 2-in-1 furnace and water heater.

The course is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 27, at the Institute’s facility in Elkhart, Ind.

The free program will provide eight hours of credit toward the RV Technical Institute’s Level 3 Appliance Specialist certification. That certification covers furnaces, instantaneous water heaters, and hydronic or combination units.

Participants who complete the training will receive a certificate of completion issued by Truma. The certificate may be submitted as part of the application for Level 3 Appliance certification through RVTI.

According to the institute, sessions offered in collaboration with manufacturers such as Truma support its mission of strengthening technician training and raising service standards across the RV industry.

The course is open only to technicians who have already achieved Level 2 certification with RVTI. This requirement ensures that participants have the foundational knowledge to engage with more advanced concepts and systems.

“Failure to meet this requirement will automatically forfeit registration,” the announcement said in a News and Insights report of RVIA. The prerequisite is intended to streamline instruction and minimize the time technicians spend away from their dealerships.

Registration for the October session opened Sept. 15, six weeks before the scheduled course date. This window allows dealerships and technicians to plan their training schedules in advance.

Additional sessions are planned through the end of 2025. The next course is set for Dec. 15, with registration opening Nov. 3. Both sessions will be held at RVTI’s headquarters in Elkhart.

RVTI continues to expand its portfolio of training opportunities through partnerships with suppliers and manufacturers. Programs such as the Truma session are tailored to align with the needs of dealerships, service centers, and RV owners.
