The RV Industry Association (RVIA) reported that total RV shipments reached 25,684 units in September, representing a 4.4% increase compared to the 24,595 units shipped during the same month in 2024.
According to RVIA’s September survey of manufacturers, total shipments through the first nine months of the year reached 267,234 units, up 4.2% from the same period a year earlier.
Craig Kirby, president and CEO of RVIA, said the results demonstrate consistent consumer interest in RVing as a lifestyle and form of travel.
“The RV industry continues to demonstrate a steady, moderate increase in wholesale shipments, which is a testament to the enduring appeal of the RV lifestyle,” Kirby said in a Market Report of RVIA.
He added that the trend reflects a shift in travel behavior. “This steady demand, well into the autumn season, underscores a crucial shift: RVing is no longer confined to summer travel,” he said.
Kirby noted that RV owners are increasingly using their vehicles outside traditional vacation months. “Our data consistently shows that RV owners are embracing the affordability and flexibility of using their units year-round, enjoying shoulder-season camping and the freedom to pursue their passions beyond traditional vacation windows,” he said.
Towable RVs, led by conventional travel trailers, ended September up 2.7% from last year with 22,878 units shipped. This category remains the largest contributor to total RV shipments.
Motorhomes recorded stronger growth, finishing the month up 21.2% from September 2024, with 2,806 units shipped. The increase indicates continued demand for motorized products across various consumer segments.
Park Model RVs also saw a notable increase, ending September up 20.4% compared to the same month last year. Manufacturers shipped 354 park model units during the month.
