RV Shipments Down in July but Year-to-Date Totals Show Growth

The RV Industry Association’s July 2025 survey of manufacturers reported total RV shipments of 22,633 units, a 6.1 percent decline from the 24,116 units shipped in July 2024.

According to the report, year-to-date shipments remain ahead of last year’s pace, with 213,338 units shipped so far in 2025 compared to 202,712 at this point in 2024, a 5.2 percent increase.

“This summer, forty-four million Americans are prioritizing time outdoors with family and friends as they made RVing their vacation of choice,” said RV Industry Association President & CEO Craig Kirby.

“And our latest research shows RVing will remain popular as we head into fall with affordability topping the list of reasons people plan to go on an RV adventure,” Craig added.

Towable RVs, which make up the largest share of shipments, totaled 19,686 units in July, down 8.7 percent from the 21,560 units shipped a year earlier.

Conventional travel trailers dropped 12.9 percent to 14,923 units, while fifth-wheel trailers rose 9.1 percent to 4,227.

Folding camping trailers fell 18.9 percent to 228 units, but truck campers gained 16.2 percent to 308 units.

Year-to-date towable shipments stand at 191,727, a 5.9 percent increase from 2024.

Motorhomes finished the month with 2,947 units shipped, a 15.3 percent gain compared to 2,556 units last July.

Within that category, Type A motorhomes rose 7.4 percent to 505 units, Type B van campers dipped 1.9 percent to 631 units, and Type C motorhomes surged 25.5 percent to 1,811 units.

Cumulative motorhome shipments are nearly flat year-over-year, with 21,611 units in 2025 versus 21,745 in 2024.

Park Model RVs also showed positive results in July, with 316 units shipped, up 5.7 percent from 299 units a year ago.

Year-to-date totals reached 2,422 units, representing 0.9 percent growth compared to 2024.

This report highlights shifting consumer preferences across RV categories, underscores the resilience of motorhome and fifth-wheel demand, and reflects the broader strength of outdoor recreation as a driver of travel and lifestyle choices in North America.
