RV Industry Honors Kevin McArt at Chairman’s Dinner During RVs Move America Week

The RV Industry Association (RVIA) honored Forest River General Manager and former Chair Kevin McArt during the Chairman’s Dinner on Tuesday, June 3, as part of RVs Move America Week 2025 in Washington, D.C.

The event took place at Ciel Social Club and recognized McArt’s leadership and contributions during his tenure as Association Chair.

Mary Pouliot, current chair of RVIA and executive vice president of Thetford North America, addressed attendees and commended McArt for his achievements while leading the Association.

Among the accomplishments highlighted were two major studies released under McArt’s chairmanship. The Path to Purchase study examined the consumer decision-making process, while the 2023 Vacation Cost Comparison Study reported that RV vacations can cost up to 60% less than comparable alternatives.

Pouliot also noted the formation of three new groups within the association during McArt’s term. These include the RV Campground Coalition, which supports the role of campgrounds in the future of RVing; the Sustainability Committee, aimed at advancing eco-friendly practices; and the Workplace Safety Taskforce, which has since become a standing committee.

The RV Technical Institute (RVIT) also marked its fifth anniversary during McArt’s leadership, reaching new milestones in technical training and certification. The institute expanded its reach through affiliated partnerships and added more certified technicians to the workforce.

The association’s Standards team also made advancements, launching a new self-paced online training program. This curriculum focuses on key areas such as electrical, plumbing, heating, and fuel systems, with clear guidance on industry testing requirements.

In public policy, the association saw significant progress in advocacy efforts. Under McArt’s leadership, Congress passed the EXPLORE Act. In addition, RV franchise legislation was enacted in Maryland, Wisconsin, and Washington, and a California bill eased warranty claim processes under the Song-Beverly Act.

RVIA expressed gratitude to McArt for his years of service and his role in advancing key industry goals.

The association also acknowledged Forest River and Patrick Industries for sponsoring the Chairman’s Dinner, which concluded the day’s events with a celebration of leadership and industry collaboration.
