The RV Industry Association (RVIA) is endorsing a series of federal actions aimed at preserving natural resources and expanding public access to outdoor recreation.
The Association has expressed support for a new Executive Order establishing the Make America Beautiful Again Commission and a complementary Interior Department initiative known as the Patriot Program.
The Make America Beautiful Again Commission is tasked with promoting responsible natural resource stewardship, improving access to public lands, and encouraging collaborative conservation.
The commission also aims to streamline environmental management processes and bolster fish and wildlife populations through community-led, voluntary efforts.
Announced concurrently, the Patriot Program is a public-private initiative tied to the United States’ upcoming 250th anniversary.
It seeks to invest $250 million into infrastructure and preservation projects across federal lands. According to the Department of the Interior, the program will rely on matching private contributions to stretch the impact of federal dollars.
“Every federal dollar invested in the Patriot Program will be matched by 50 percent in private funding or in-kind contributions,” the association indicates in a News and Insights report of RVIA.
RVIA has long advocated for public-private partnerships as a strategy to modernize and expand campgrounds on federal lands. The organization views these efforts as crucial to meeting the growing demand from RVers for safe and sustainable outdoor destinations.
The Patriot Program includes funding for masonry repairs, wildland fuel reduction, trail maintenance, and increased access to historic and natural landmarks.
It also aims to involve young people in conservation work and provide job training in skilled trades related to public land stewardship.
In a statement, the association said it supports both the commission and the Patriot Program, highlighting their alignment with the association’s priorities.
“The RV Industry Association looks forward to seeing the Patriot Program, the newly established executive commission, and America the Beautiful Act working together to ensure RVers can continue to access revitalized outdoor spaces for generations to come,” the association adds.
The federal push coincides with the introduction of the America the Beautiful Act, which would reauthorize and expand the National Parks and Public Land Legacy Restoration Fund. The legislation was introduced in Congress on May 1 and is currently under review.
