RV Industry Association to Host PFAS Webinar

As regulations on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) continue to expand across the United States and internationally, the RV Industry Association (RVIA) will host a webinar on April 29 to help businesses navigate the expanding compliance landscape.

The session will take place from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET and is aimed at RV suppliers, manufacturers, importers, and distributors.

The webinar, titled “Overview and Impact of PFAS Regulations,” will be led by members of the RVIA’s Government Affairs team. Presenters include Senior Manager of State Affairs Sophie de la Torre, Legislative Associate Gianna Dinnini, and Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs Bill Erny.

The event will also provide a comprehensive overview of PFAS regulations at the federal, state, and Canadian levels.

According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, the association recently developed a Frequently Asked Questions document to address industry concerns regarding PFAS compliance. The webinar will use this resource to explain complex regulatory concepts in straightforward terms.

Topics will include the Environmental Protection Agency’s reporting requirements under the Toxic Substances Control Act Section 8(a), which are set to impact importers and suppliers starting in July 2025.

The session will also identify which states have enacted bans or reporting mandates that may affect RV-related products.

The webinar will also review Canada’s PFAS reporting requirements, which are scheduled to take effect in July 2025.

In addition to regulatory updates, the session will provide insight into how companies can audit their supply chains, address data gaps, and implement preventive measures.

The association will also address trends projected for 2025, including the emergence of personal injury litigation related to PFAS exposure and increasingly aggressive enforcement at the state level.
