RV Help, a newly launched website and mobile app, aims to reduce long wait times for RV repairs by directly connecting RV owners with certified mobile technicians and inspectors.
The platform responds to widespread industry service delays, with many dealerships currently reporting repair backlogs lasting three to six weeks.
The idea for RV Help originated from co-founder Heath Padgett’s experience living full-time in a motorhome. Padgett, who previously launched The RV Entrepreneur Podcast and Campground Booking, said getting repairs on the road was a constant challenge.
“Every time something broke, it was a scramble,” Padgett said in a press release. “We’d spend hours calling shops, leaving voicemails, trying to figure out if anyone could help—and usually, they couldn’t.”
To build the platform, Padgett partnered with entrepreneurs Dennis Lankes and Josiah Mann.
Mann shared that his first RV trip resulted in a breakdown and difficulties locating a qualified repair provider.
“We had already paid over $2,000 just to have it towed off the side of the road,” he said. “We eventually found someone on Craigslist who came through for us, but for a while, we genuinely thought we might have to rent a car and leave our RV behind.”
RV Help officially launched at the Tampa RV SuperShow in January through a partnership with the National RV Training Academy (NRVTA). The company took over NRVTA’s technician locator tool, which had already become a go-to resource for thousands of RV owners nationwide.
In its first six months, RV Help has drawn more than 10,000 users. The platform allows RV owners to search for mobile technicians based on location, certification, and service specialty.
To enhance service options, RV Help recently introduced a Pro Membership that includes access to virtual diagnostic calls, concierge dispatching, and a maintenance tracker feature set to launch later this year.
The membership is designed to support RVers with ongoing repair and maintenance needs, regardless of their travel schedules.
