Fixed operations professionals at RV dealerships will focus on improving service department profitability, repair cycle times and technician retention during a full day of workshops at the 2026 RV Dealers Convention/Expo Nov. 12 at Paris Las Vegas.
The program will address service intake and documentation, parts department strategy, technician compensation and workforce development, with sessions offering practical approaches to reducing operational inefficiencies and improving customer satisfaction.
Rob Cochran will lead “From Check-In to Cash Flow: Fixing the Hidden Gaps in RV Service Operations,” examining how service intake, inspections and documentation standards can reduce repair cycle times, prevent rework and improve communication among service, parts and warranty departments.
Sara Clements-Hey will present two workshops addressing technician retention and parts profitability. “Why Your Best Technicians Are Leaving, Why Pizza Won’t Fix It, and What Actually Will” will outline a three-tier, efficiency-based bonus plan designed to improve productivity and reduce turnover.
Her second session, “Amazon Isn’t Your Problem: Your Parts Strategy Is,” will examine how dealership parts departments can compete by focusing on their advantages. Attendees will receive an 18-item Parts Department Self-Assessment to identify strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement.
Jerry Weldon will lead “Turning Fixed Operations into a Profit Center,” covering methods for identifying profit leaks, improving service advisor communication and strengthening staff development. The session will use dealership examples to address repair order accuracy, parts coordination and customer experience.
Jordon Schoolmeester’s “Future-Proofing Your Service Department: Building and Retaining the Next Generation of Technicians” will focus on technician recruitment and retention through structured onboarding, mentorship and career development. The session also will address compensation and pricing strategies intended to support year-round performance.
Select sessions qualify for continuing education units through the RV Learning Center toward fixed operations recertification.
Fixed operations professionals can register for $389, which includes access to the full Thursday Convention/Expo schedule and the Expo Hall.
The RV Dealers Convention/Expo is presented by RVDA U.S., RVDA of Canada and the Mike Molino RV Learning Center.
