REV Group, a designer and manufacturer of specialty vehicles, announced the election of Cynthia Augustine as an independent member of its board of directors.
Augustine is the global chief talent officer at McCann Worldgroup, a marketing services company within the Interpublic Group (IPG). Her career spans multiple roles, including global chief talent officer for FCB Global, another IPG entity. Additionally, Augustine has held senior vice president positions at Scholastic and Time Warner.
Prior to her roles in human resources, Augustine began her career as a lawyer specializing in employment law, labor relations, and employee benefits.
Jean Marie Canan, chair of REV Group’s board of directors, mentioned that Augustine brings an extensive executive leadership background and transformational change to the board. Canan expressed confidence that her background, global experience, and expertise in human capital management would further the company’s organizational and operational goals.

According to a press release, Augustine’s credentials include a juris doctorate from Rutgers University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Sarah Lawrence College. Her commitment to social justice is highlighted through her involvement with the Innocence Project, where she serves on the board of trustees. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to exonerating individuals who have been wrongfully convicted.
Throughout her career, Augustine has received accolades for her contributions. She has been named to Black Enterprise’s Most Powerful Women in Business list and has been recognized three times by Savoy Magazine as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Black Leaders in Corporate America.
