The York RV Show, a staple event for the Pennsylvania RV industry, has taken a bold step toward the future by introducing virtual tours. This innovative feature, implemented at the 2024 show held on March 8-10, has opened doors for a more engaging and accessible experience for RV enthusiasts.
According to the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association (PCOA), owner of the RV show, the 2024 show witnessed eight dealers showcasing their products across 165,000 square feet of indoor space, spread across three areas and five buildings. Additionally, 72 units were displayed outdoors, alongside 58 vendor booths, including 28 campgrounds. This vibrant atmosphere was further enhanced by the introduction of virtual tours, powered by Campground Views, an outdoor travel technology company.
These virtual tours allowed RV enthusiasts, both physically present and remote, to explore the show in an immersive manner. Using video and augmented information, the tours provided a detailed and interactive experience, capturing the essence of the show’s atmosphere and showcasing the latest rigs.
Mark Koep, founder of Campground Views, emphasized the continuous updates during the event, ensuring that the virtual experience remained fresh and engaging. “Throughout the show, we continually update the tour with more detailed experiences, capturing the dynamic atmosphere and latest innovations.”
The virtual tours, now available on the York RV Show website, provide a comprehensive and immersive experience, allowing visitors to explore the 2024 show floor from the comfort of their homes. The tours encompass the four main display areas: Memorial Hall, Horticulture Hall, Old Main, and the Arena.
Visitors can virtually navigate the aisles, getting a close-up look at the various RVs and campers on display. Additionally, the tours offer augmented information, providing detailed specifications and features of each unit.
The positive response to the virtual tours underscores the potential to upgrade the way RV shows are experienced. This technology allows individuals who are unable to attend physically to still participate and explore the offerings. Additionally, it provides a valuable resource for attendees to revisit the show and delve deeper into specific areas of interest.
The York RV Show, scheduled for March 21, 22, and 23, 2025, promises to build upon the success of the virtual tours. The organizers are encouraging RV enthusiasts to mark their calendars and prepare for an even more engaging and immersive experience. As the industry embraces technological advancements, the York RV Show serves as a shining example of how virtual tours can enhance accessibility, engagement, and the overall show experience.
