New Glamping Sites Transform Camping Experience in Pennsylvania State Parks

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) has launched the state’s first-ever glamping accommodations, expanding overnight options at eight state parks through a new partnership with Timberline Glamping Company

The collaboration marks Timberline Glamping Company’s first expansion into the Northeast. With this initiative, Pennsylvania becomes the state with the largest number of Timberline glamping locations nationwide.

The initiative offers visitors a comfortable way to enjoy the outdoors with modern amenities and style.

According to an article published by PennWatch on October 8, DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn joined Timberline representatives at French Creek State Park to celebrate the debut, marking a new chapter in how Pennsylvanians and visitors experience state parks.

The expansion will add 61 glamping sites across scenic locations statewide, with online reservations now open for spring 2026 stays.

Glamping blends traditional camping with the comforts of home. Guests can expect beds, electricity, climate control, and outdoor seating while still being immersed in nature.

Each park will include at least one ADA-accessible tent to ensure inclusivity for all visitors.

“This new offering is another way we’re ensuring that our state parks remain welcoming and enjoyable for all Pennsylvanians,” Dunn said.

“By transforming underused campsites into beautiful glamping experiences, we’re expanding overnight options in a way that’s affordable, sustainable, and beneficial to local communities. These are truly places where adventure feels like home,” Dunn added.

Each Timberline site features safari-style tents outfitted with home-like comforts such as heat, air conditioning, lighting, and décor.

Outdoor amenities include firepits, furniture, and access to recreational areas within the parks.

Reservations are now available for spring through fall 2026, with guests able to book one-night weekday stays or two-night weekend and holiday stays.

Glamping reservations are now open at eight Pennsylvania state parks, with seasonal availability varying by location.

Visitors can book stays at Poe Valley (March 27–December 12), Hills Creek (May 1–October 17), Laurel Hill (April 10–October 17), Pymatuning (April 10–October 31), and Codorus (April 10–October 31), offering guests a wide range of options for spring, summer, and fall getaways.

At French Creek State Park, guests can choose between two loops—Loop A, which operates year-round as the first all-season glamping site in the Northeast, and Loop B, open April 24–October 31.

Additional glamping accommodations are available at Hickory Run (April 10–October 17) and Promised Land (May 1–October 11), providing visitors with opportunities to experience Pennsylvania’s diverse landscapes and seasons in comfort.
