Campground Success Strategies Take Center Stage in PCOA 2025 Workshops

The 62nd Annual Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association (PCOA) Convention & Trade Show is underway at Kalahari Pocono Resort, offering campground owners, RV park operators, and suppliers four days of workshops, networking, and product showcases designed to support business growth and operational excellence.

The convention runs from Monday, December 8, through Thursday, December 11, with a full agenda that includes educational sessions, vendor exhibitions, and networking opportunities. The event draws members from across the United States and Canada.

On Wednesday, December 10, the trade show opens at 8 a.m., featuring vendors presenting campground goods and services, many with convention-exclusive offers. Attendees can explore solutions that enhance revenue, reduce costs, or both.

The afternoon features multiple workshops designed to provide actionable insights for campground operators. Brendan Wewer leads “How to Value a Campground,” offering an insider’s perspective on property appraisal, including land, improvements, FF&E, and income streams, while identifying factors that affect overall value.

Concurrent with Wewer’s session, Brent Sapen and Justin Matincheck present “Water/Wastewater & Engineering Solutions,” covering design, permitting, evaluation, repairs, upgrades, and operations of existing systems.

The session also addresses civil engineering considerations for campground expansion, including layout, grading, stormwater, and regulatory compliance.

Newbook hosts “Eight Things You Can Do in an Afternoon to Enhance Your Business,” a fast-paced, practical session highlighting small but impactful initiatives owners and managers can implement immediately to boost reservations and guest satisfaction.

At 3:30 p.m., Wewer returns to lead “Is It Time to Sell?,” providing guidance on succession planning, market timing, and preparing a campground for a confident sale. The session is relevant for operators planning to exit their business within one to ten years.

Brenda Lidy’s “From Campfires to Concerts: Crafting Memorable Campground Events” explores strategies for creating family-friendly, affordable events that drive reservations and community engagement, leaving a lasting impression on guests.

Michael Moore will also present “Relationship Marketing,” emphasizing the role of guest loyalty, referrals, and repeat bookings in campground success. The session demonstrates how operators can build lasting emotional connections without relying heavily on paid advertising.

The day concludes with “Roundtables Re-imagined,” a networking session from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m., allowing members to discuss industry challenges and share best practices in a structured format.
