Outdoorsy Launches New Travel Insurance and Payment Method to Make Traveling Easier

RV rental marketplace, Outdoorsy announced the launch of two new features designed for guests booking their next road trip, which are Roamly’s Travel Insurance coverage and PayPal Pay In 41 offering.

The features’ arrival comes when consumer sentiment around travel is vulnerable to inflation and rising gas costs. Last April 1, the marketplace reported a 13% year-on-year growth in summer departure bookings, indicating market conditions will have a small impact on RV rentals, according to a press release.

While other travel industries saw cost spikes over the past year due to inflation, Outdoorsy’s average trip price has gone up by $5 since 2021, showing a 0.28% increase, proving RV vacations as one of the most insulated forms of travel.

To give travelers affordability booking, RVs, campervans, or trailers on Outdoorsy, users will now have the option to reserve their rental and pay it over time through PayPal’s Pay in 4. This method is now available at the checkout, letting guests break down trip costs up to $1,500 into four interest-free payments.

The first payment will be due at the time of purchase, while the remaining payments are due every two weeks after it. This new payment method allows budget-conscious travelers to reserve their trip on the same day and drive off in their RV the following day, even before making final payments.

Ahead of a busy summer travel season, we want to give our community as many resourceful payment options and protections as possible, so finances aren’t what’s holding them back from getting outside,” said Outdoorsy’s Co-founder and CEO Jeff Cavins. “We’re proud to be partnering with PayPal to introduce their Pay in 4 offering, and we look forward to making these road trip experiences more attainable for travelers, as the service gives them the freedom to travel now and pay over time.”

Outdoorsy will also introduce Roamly’s Travel Insurance, offering guests protection from unforeseen events. Through a partnership with RV-Insurtech Toamly and International Medical Group (IMG), Outdoorsy can protect and reimburse travelers in need of trip cancellation due to unpredictable circumstances.

The new Travel Insurance product will cover policyholders needing to cancel a trip if they become sick or are hospitalized before the trip start date and those needing reimbursement for an interrupted trip due to illness or hospitalization. COVID-19 and COVID-19 variants are treated as any other sickness on the Travel Insurance plans.

More information on Roamly’s Travel Insurance can be found online at https://www.roamly.com/travel-insurance. More information on PayPal Pay In 4 can be found online at www.paypal.com/payin4.

The Pay in $ payment method is available for consumers upon purchasing $30 to $1,500. However, it is not available to residents of Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Wisconsin, or any U.S. Territories.

Meanwhile, loans to California residents are made or arranged under a California Financing Law. A soft credit may be needed when applying for the loan but will not affect the applicant’s credit score. The applicant must be of legal age in their state of residence to use the Pay in 4.

Offer availability depends on the merchant and may not be available for certain recurring subscription services.
