The Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo (OHCE) officially began in Louisville, Kentucky, marking the start of a week focused on connection, learning, and leadership within the outdoor hospitality industry.
The event, themed “Race to Greatness,” drew campground owners, RV park operators, glamping resort leaders, and suppliers from across North America to the Kentucky International Convention Center (KICC).
The excitement began on Sunday (November 9) as attendees checked in, collected badges, and exchanged gear at the popular Swag Swap. The atmosphere was one of anticipation as professionals gathered for the Meet, Greet, and GO! social, reconnecting with colleagues and welcoming first-time attendees.

Prospective owners spent the afternoon participating in the Prospective Owners’ Workshop, an intensive session designed to equip newcomers with essential knowledge on property selection, financing, park design, and operations. The workshop has become a key entry point for individuals aspiring to enter the outdoor hospitality business.
By Monday (November 10) morning, the conference was in full swing. The O-hi! Coffee Conversation provided a relaxed networking opportunity over breakfast before the official opening of OHCE 2025. Attendees used the time to exchange ideas, make introductions, and discuss shared challenges across the campground and RV park sectors.
The Welcome and Keynote session also set the tone for the event. Damien Harmon, president of Subway North America, delivered a keynote focused on leadership, innovation, and building resilient teams.
His message underscored the importance of intentional planning and consistent execution—principles that resonated strongly with the outdoor hospitality audience.

Following the keynote, attendees participated in the first round of Campfire Sessions, a signature element of OHCE. Organized by region and professional role, these sessions encouraged open dialogue and peer-to-peer learning.
Operators discussed practical strategies for boosting occupancy, enhancing guest experiences, and strengthening community engagement.
Midday, the spotlight shifted to recognition and achievement with the Awards of Excellence Luncheon. The ceremony celebrated campgrounds, RV parks, and industry suppliers for their innovation, sustainability efforts, and operational excellence.

The afternoon brought a wide array of educational sessions addressing key industry topics. Presentations covered marketing strategy, artificial intelligence integration, legal compliance, and current economic trends affecting park performance and profitability.
Additional Campfire Sessions by park size and type followed, allowing attendees to exchange experiences and solutions tailored to their specific operational models. The discussions highlighted both common challenges and diverse approaches to success in the evolving outdoor hospitality landscape.
As the day progressed, exhibitors gathered for the first-ever dedicated Exhibitor Reception. The new addition to the OHCE schedule gave suppliers and park operators additional opportunities to connect ahead of the expo’s official opening.

Other afternoon sessions explored emerging themes such as sustainable design, technology adoption, and the growing importance of high-speed internet as a driver of guest satisfaction and revenue growth.
The evening concluded with The Race Is On Welcome Reception, which captured the spirit of Kentucky’s racing heritage. Attendees created Derby hats, placed friendly bets, and enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere on the expo floor.
The opening day’s energy reflected the conference’s theme of growth and forward momentum. With a week of workshops, networking events, and exhibit hall activity ahead, OHCE 2025 is positioned to offer attendees valuable insights and partnerships.
