The Umatilla National Forest (Oregon) is looking for volunteer campground hosts at the Jubilee Lake campground for the summer.
As per a report, volunteer hosts will greet visitors, share information about the area, and make campers feel welcome.
Hosts are responsible for keeping an eye on things while setting a good example as accommodating, friendly and responsible.
This can include restocking supplies, maintaining and cleaning restrooms, visiting with day visitors and campers, occasionally clearing up after camp, and doing minor repairs.
Couples and individuals can apply to be hosts, and retirees often apply. The applicants may be required to go through a criminal investigation.
Hosts are provided a campsite, usually near the main campground entrance, but must bring their own trailer, camper, or motorhome. Volunteers will be offered food and propane allowance.
Jubilee Lake Campground is Umatilla National Forest’s biggest campground offering 53 campsites with four picnic areas and a 2.8-mile trail that runs along the lake. The campground hosts typically stay on-site from early July until mid-September. However, they might stay longer depending on the weather.
