Lane County’s Largest Campground Receives Upgrade with Park Levy Funding

Lane County‘s largest campground received an upgrade from the county park levy funding. The courtesy docks at Richardson Park, and Marina have undergone improvements for outdoor enthusiasts.

The project, which included the installation of brand-new floorboards and boat slips, is a welcome improvement for visitors and locals alike. Before the renovations, the docks near the boat ramp had fallen into “disrepair” due to insufficient funding.

This project was made possible by the Lane County Parks Levy, with support from 66% of voters. According to a press release, Lane County Parks Manager Brett Henry expressed his enthusiasm for the improvements.

“Richardson is our largest campground, has a large day use area, and the marina has more than 200 boat slips. In the summer it is a wonderful place to gather with family and friends to enjoy the water. It’s been really great to see so many people enjoying the improved docks this summer,” Henry said.

Richardson Park, spanning 115 acres, is located near the cities of Eugene and Veneta. The park boasts 88 campsites, a day-use area, and three picnic shelters, including an 8,000 square-foot structure.

This picnic shelter features a full-service outdoor kitchen and can accommodate up to 300 people. Additionally, the park offers a 212-slip marina, a swimming area, play structures, game areas, and an outdoor amphitheater.

The campground operates on a seasonal schedule, with Loop A open from April 18 to October 7 and from April 11 to October 13 in 2025. Loop B operates from May 16 to September 9, and from May 12 to September 15, 2025. During these periods, showers and the RV dump station are available for campground patrons.

Richardson Park’s marina also operates seasonally, offering various mooring options for watercraft. Whether visitors need daily or seasonal moorage, reservations are recommended to secure a spot.

Other amenities include a boat ramp, campsites with and without hook-ups, a caretaker on site, picnic areas, play equipment, restrooms, trails, and a swimming area.
