Bar Run Golf and RV Resort, located in Roseburg, has positioned itself as a multifaceted destination in southern Oregon, blending a championship public golf course, a modern RV resort and newly introduced water amenities on a reclaimed industrial site in Roseburg.
Located seven miles from Interstate 5, Bar Run sits within the rolling hills of the Callahan Mountains and serves travelers seeking golf, outdoor recreation and extended stays in the Umpqua Valley. The property integrates hospitality, recreation and land reclamation into a single year-round destination.
The resort includes an 18-hole, par-70 golf course designed by Northwest architect Dan Hixson, alongside an RV resort offering 66 full-hookup sites and six on-course cottages.
Twenty-six of the RV sites are located along the first 10 holes of the course.

RV accommodations feature level concrete back-in and pull-through pads with water access and 30/50-amp hookups. Sites are dog friendly and accommodate all RV sizes, with nightly rates ranging from $85 to $125 depending on the season.
Additional on-site amenities for RV guests include a community kitchen, fitness center, showers, Wi-Fi and laundry facilities. A Snack Shack offers packaged food, beer, wine and cider, while the Golf Shop operates daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with equipment for purchase and rental.
The resort’s six private cottages are positioned along the golf course and feature large front porches with course views. The cottages sleep two to six people and include modern kitchen appliances and furnished living spaces.
Golf operations at Bar Run are also open to the public year-round for both nine- and 18-hole play. The course was developed on an industrial floodplain and incorporates varied terrain, riverfront holes and native trees within a compact footprint.

Three holes run along the South Umpqua River, while cottonwood, maple and oak trees are integrated throughout the course. The elevation change across the property is limited to 20 feet, making the course accessible to a wide range of golfers.
Practice amenities include an on-site putting green, with a new driving range currently in development. The course is available for both daily public play and membership options.
A major addition to the resort is a 22,000-square-foot lazy river pool, billed as the largest lazy river in Oregon. The pool complex includes an observation deck known as “The Nest,” offering bar service with views of the pool and golf course.
“The Outpost” concession stand will provide food and beverage service, supported by picnic tables, cabanas, changing rooms and an outdoor shower area. A Petticoat Junction–style jacuzzi is also planned as part of the pool complex.
The lazy river operates daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through September. Cottage and RV guests have access to the pool at no additional charge, while golf members may add pool access for an annual fee of $100.

The Bar Run property is rooted in mining history, having previously operated as the Umpqua Sand & Gravel Mine beginning in the 1960s. The site was originally mined for round rock, sand and gravel extracted from the river bar layer.
The term “bar run,” which refers to the mining process used on the property, inspired the resort’s name. The development represents a reclamation project that transformed a former industrial site into a golf and hospitality destination.
Historic elements remain visible throughout the course, including a preserved dragline bucket, a reclaimed steel bridge and “The Wall,” modeled after the iconic feature at North Berwick Golf Club in Scotland.
Surrounded by fishing, rafting, mountain biking and wine tourism, Bar Run also benefits from proximity to Eugene, the Oregon Coast, Medford, Crater Lake and Portland.
Bar Run’s 18-hole golf course and RV resort sit as a legacy to the land, built on a former sand and gravel mine. Embracing Roseburg’s rich heritage, the owners have remained mindful of each step taken in developing the property.
