OHI Concludes Eighth Washington, D.C., Advocacy Fly-In of 2025

OHI concluded its eighth Washington, D.C., advocacy fly-in of 2025, bringing 24 members together to meet directly with federal lawmakers and advance issues affecting private campgrounds and RV parks.

The multi-day advocacy effort focused on in-person engagement with elected officials, giving campground owners and industry executives an opportunity to share firsthand perspectives on the outdoor hospitality sector and reinforce OHI’s role as the national trade association representing the industry.

The fly-in continued a sustained advocacy push throughout 2025, with members traveling to the nation’s capital to strengthen relationships with policymakers and elevate awareness of the industry’s operational and regulatory priorities.

“Being in D.C. and seeing so many members come together in one place was inspiring,” said David Basler, OHI chief strategy officer. “It’s one thing to talk about the industry at home, but being here, sharing our stories, and putting faces to names really shows the strength and unity of our community.”

Basler participated in the fly-in alongside Andrew Mills, OHI government affairs strategist and lobbyist, who supported member meetings and coordinated legislative engagement during the visit.

The delegation included campground owners, operators, and executives representing a wide range of markets and property types across the outdoor hospitality industry.

Participants included representatives from Diamond Hospitality, Four Points RV Resorts, Blue Water Development, Sandusky KOA Holiday Campground, and Cherry Hill Park, among others.

Additional attendees represented Madison Islands Campground, Amcotts Park Campground, Sapphire Motel, Two Creeks Campground, Papoose Pond Campground, and Hickory Hills Campground.

Owners and operators from Old Orchard Beach Campground, Smokey Hollow Campground, Buck Hill Campground, Cantwell RV Park, and Grayson Getaways also took part in the advocacy effort.

The group further included representatives from Cali Life, Eco Realty Investments and Hidden Beach RV Resort, Roots Management, Montana Creek Campground, Gasconade Hills Resort, Crown Lake RV Resort, and Spring Valley RV.
