Northgate Resorts has expanded its national footprint with the addition of five new parks, including the acquisition of Williamsburg Campground in Virginia. The move, announced September 8, brings the Grand Rapids, Mich.-based company’s portfolio to 40 properties across the United States.
Four of the newly added parks are management agreements in California and Oregon. They include Hat Creek Resort & RV Park in Old Station, Yosemite Pines RV Resort & Family Lodging in Groveland, High Sierra RV & Mobile Park in Oakhurst, and Loon Lake Lodge & RV Resort in Reedsport.
These properties expand Northgate’s presence in the western market, offering proximity to major outdoor attractions such as Yosemite National Park, the Sierra Nevada, and the Oregon coast. Each location features a range of lodging options designed to serve campers seeking both traditional and modern accommodations.
In Virginia, the company has acquired Williamsburg Campground, a property positioned near Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Busch Gardens. The campground features wooded campsites, deluxe cabins, and family-focused amenities.
“The property serves history enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers as a hub, offering a mix of traditional camping and modern comforts in one of the East Coast’s most visited regions,” the company’s press release indicates.
The mix of managed and owned properties strengthens Northgate’s ability to meet traveler demand in diverse markets. The latest additions also align with broader growth in the outdoor hospitality sector.
“Our footprint now spans 40 properties across the U.S., from the East Coast to the West,” said Tessa McCrackin, CMO of Northgate Resorts.
“Expanding in both managed and owned parks positions us to serve campers in a wider variety of landscapes and communities,” McCrackin added.
Northgate has built its reputation on developing and operating campgrounds and resorts that balance natural settings with guest-focused amenities.
Its portfolio includes a mix of traditional camping, RV sites, cabins, and glamping accommodations.
The company is also known as the creator of Camp Fimfo, a brand that combines campground operations with themed activities and destination-style amenities.
