After five years in the making, the Minot Parks Department (North Dakota) has started construction of a 248-acre Outdoor Recreation Area.

As per a report, the park is situated west of Minot, located off County Road 15.
Once completed, the park will host over 70 acres of trails.
It will feature an aggregate path–a medium surface trail, a dirt and earth trail, and an easy-access concrete trail.
“One of the big focuses on this trail was, we have put in a lot of trails over the years, and a lot of the comments are, ‘I would love to explore the trail, but I have a stroller,’ or, ‘I have some mobility limitations,’ so that was a big part of this project,” said Elly DesLauriers with the Minot Park District.
The trails will have signage that will showcase different types of plants and animals in the area.

According to Minot Parks, the first phase of the construction project, which includes 1.75 miles of natural trails for hiking, biking, birding, site seeing, and educating, is scheduled to be completed in August.
