Owners and operators of private campgrounds and RV parks can take a leaf out of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ book as they navigate the phased reopening of Warrior Creek Campground at W. Kerr Scott Reservoir (North Carolina).
This comes as a relief following the successful completion of necessary sinkhole repairs to the campground’s entrance road.
The campground’s reopening plan will be executed in three meticulously planned stages.
The first phase, which took effect on May 8, saw campsites 1-21 and group areas A and B once again welcoming camping enthusiasts. Following closely, phase two will bring campsites 44-61 back to life on May 15. The final phase, due on May 22, will reopen campsites 22-43 to the public.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will commence accepting reservations two days ahead of each phase’s opening day, allowing campers to plan their visits well in advance. It is worth noting that for this reopening, advance reservations for camping are a necessity.
Campers are required to make their own reservations. The process has been made straightforward and accessible via multiple platforms.
Reservations can be made by visiting the official website at www.recreation.gov, using the recreation.gov mobile application, or by calling 1-877-444-6777.
To ensure an enjoyable and hassle-free camping experience, campers are advised to peruse the “Need-to-Know” section when making reservations.
