Gorges State Park’s New Campground Opens Tomorrow

According to the North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation, Gorges State Park (North Carolina) will unveil its newest family campground tomorrow, October 29.

As per a report, the campground has five camper cabins with 14 campsites as well as 16 tent campsites. The campground also features a modern bathhouse.

Brantley Construction began work on the campground in August 2020. However, labor and material delays slowed the construction. The new campground, completed in September, will assist in meeting the growing demands for outdoor recreation across the state, mainly modern cabins and RV sites.

The park’s camper cabins feature power, A/C, heat, and sleeping for six in two separate rooms, including two sets of bunk beds and one double bed. RV sites have 20-, 30- or 50-amp electric service and water and sewer hookups. Pets are not allowed in cabins but are welcome at tent and RV campsites.

Gorges State Park staff are eager to welcome guests to the new facilities.

People have looked forward to this campground for a long time,” said Gorges State Park Superintendent Kevin Bischof.

These facilities will serve visitors with varied camping preferences and allow them to experience this fantastic park in a new way. There’s a lot to see here, and staying on-site will make it easier to experience more during a visit.”
