General RV Marks One Year of Operations at North Carolina Supercenter

General RV Center has celebrated the one-year anniversary of its Salisbury Supercenter in North Carolina, marking the milestone with an event attended by company leadership, employees, and local officials on October 7.

The celebration included a tour of the 71,000-square-foot facility and remarks highlighting the dealership’s impact on the region’s economy and workforce.

The event drew participation from approximately 60 employees, alongside state, county, and local leaders who joined the General RV ownership team to commemorate the occasion.

The Salisbury location, which opened last year, represents the company’s first dealership in the state and its continued expansion in the Southeast.

“We promised to bring a great place to work to the community, I think we’ve done that,” said General RV CEO and third-generation owner Loren Baidas.

“We have almost 100 employees here after one full year. Our goal is to continue to grow this store and our footprint and to be a vital part of the success of this community,” Baidas added.

Located roughly 30 miles northeast of Charlotte, the Salisbury Supercenter provides a comprehensive selection of recreational vehicles, outdoor products, and accessories.

The facility includes 34 service bays—six of which are dedicated to body work—and space to accommodate up to 700 RVs on-site.

General RV’s investment in Rowan County has positioned the location as the largest RV Supercenter within 400 miles and the top dealership for motorhome sales in North Carolina.

Its scale and workforce growth have contributed to the area’s economic development since its groundbreaking two years ago.

“It was two years ago in August that we broke ground on the site,” Rod Crider, president of the Rowan County Economic Development Council, said in a press release.

“That was an exciting day for us, but really the thing that made it exciting was that it was more than just the beginning of a new construction project, it demonstrated your (General RV’s) confidence in our county and our community that out of all of the places you looked, you chose Rowan County,” Crider added.

Crider also emphasized the dealership’s role in drawing tourism and local spending. “Your contributions to the local economy has been significant. You’re bringing in new visitors to Rowan County, who are spending money in our restaurants and our retail stores … and you’ve given us a lot of visibility,” he said.

General RV Center now operates 23 Supercenters across 10 states, including Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Virginia. Each location offers sales, service, and accessories, serving both new and experienced RV owners.

Founded in Michigan in 1962, General RV remains a family-owned business with a focus on innovation and customer service.
