Campground operators across New Jersey are welcoming guests this October as the fall season brings vibrant foliage, festivals, and themed activities to parks throughout the state.
According to the New Jersey Campground Owners Association (NJCOA), many RV parks and campgrounds remain open through the end of the month, offering a mix of peaceful retreats and family-oriented events.
Joann DelVescio, Executive Director of NJCOA, said the association’s members are encouraging travelers to take advantage of the mild weather before winter arrives. “It’s going to be snowing before you know it,” said DelVescio.
“So we’re encouraging everyone to get outdoors and go camping in New Jersey now. Bring your RV or your tent, or check out parks that have on-site rentals like cabins or glamping tents.”
To help campers plan their trips, NJCOA maintains an online directory at gocampingnj.com.
The site allows users to search for campgrounds by name, location, or amenities and includes information on camping deals and available sites for the Columbus Day weekend.
The association also maintains an active presence on social media, providing updates on campground availability, special events, and seasonal happenings.

“We work to share intel from our affiliated campgrounds about events and site availability, plus curate and share news about upcoming events across the state that might be of interest to our followers,” DelVescio added.
“So if you’re looking for last-minute plans or places to stay, we can help if you follow us on Facebook or Instagram by looking for @NJCampgrounds.”
For campground operators and business owners in the outdoor hospitality industry, the extended autumn season in New Jersey highlights opportunities to attract late-season travelers and extend the operational window beyond the traditional summer peak.
Fall events, themed weekends, and glamping accommodations continue to draw guests seeking unique experiences, suggesting that campgrounds offering flexible and diverse lodging options may benefit from increased occupancy and revenue before winter closures begin.
