New Jersey Campground Guide Earns National Recognition for Excellence

The New Jersey Campground Owners Association (NJCOA) has received national recognition for its camping directory, recently awarded the title of Best State Directory of the Year by OHI. This accolade, given in the medium-sized association category, highlights NJCOA’s efforts to provide a comprehensive guide for campers in New Jersey. The award was announced on November 5 during OHI’s annual Outdoor Hospitality Conference & Expo, held in Oklahoma City.

OHI, previously known as the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds, annually honors excellence within the outdoor hospitality industry through its Awards of Excellence program. These awards, presented in various categories, recognize achievements in areas such as customer service, innovation, marketing, environmental stewardship, and community involvement. This year’s awards luncheon celebrated the “best of the best,” showcasing individuals and organizations that significantly contribute to the field.

According to a press release, NJCOA’s Executive Director Joann DelVescio expressed pride in the recognition. She stated, “We’re always certain that each annual camping guide we produce is the best one yet, and this year our peers in the outdoor hospitality industry agreed! We are grateful for the nomination and award from OHI.”

The award-winning directory, a detailed 84-page publication, was designed by Glenn Clark of Crafting A Brand, a firm known for its work in outdoor and travel promotion. This annual guide features over 90 privately operated campgrounds across New Jersey, offering a range of camping experiences for outdoor enthusiasts. In addition to campground listings, the guide includes editorial content and advertisements that highlight attractions and activities across the Garden State.

NJCOA’s guide serves as a valuable resource for campers seeking information on where to stay and what to do in New Jersey’s diverse outdoor spaces. With both print and digital formats available, the guide is accessible to a wide audience. Visitors can request a print copy through NJCOA’s website or access the digital version online, making it easy for campers to plan their trips.

NJCOA has a long history of promoting camping in New Jersey. Founded in 1963, the association represents the interests of independently operated campgrounds statewide, working to boost tourism and support campground owners. NJCOA’s involvement in the outdoor hospitality sector spans over five decades, and its efforts have helped position New Jersey as a competitive destination within the industry.
