Under Canvas has announced plans to expand its presence in the northeastern United States with a new property in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, scheduled to open in June 2026.
The new site will mark the company’s second New England location and its first in the state, offering safari-style accommodations on 86 acres of land surrounded by views of Mount Washington, the Presidential Range, and the region’s foothills, forests, and orchards.
Located within convenient reach of White Mountain National Forest, the site provides guests access to nearby natural and cultural attractions, including Franconia Notch State Park, the Kancamagus Highway, the Mount Washington Cog Railway, and nearby towns such as Littleton, Bethlehem, and Lancaster.
As with other Under Canvas properties, the White Mountains site will feature the company’s signature glamping tents furnished in collaboration with West Elm.
Each tent will include en suite bathrooms, furnished decks, and sustainable amenities such as pull-chain showers, wood-burning stoves, and USB-powered fans and lanterns in place of traditional electrical systems.
The property will also offer specialty accommodations such as the Stargazer Suite, featuring a sky-viewing window above the bed, and larger suite options like the Mount Washington Suite, which connects two tents by a private deck for families or groups.
The main lobby tent will serve as a central gathering space featuring a café with locally inspired menu offerings, communal fire pits, outdoor games, and scheduled activities such as live music and yoga sessions.
According to an article by The Points Guy, reservations are now open, with rates starting at $279 per night. The property will also be integrated into the World of Hyatt loyalty program, allowing guests to book through Hyatt’s website and earn or redeem points for their stays.
For outdoor hospitality operators, the development highlights continued demand for high-end, eco-conscious accommodations in natural settings.
Under Canvas’ steady expansion into key tourism regions suggests sustained consumer interest in experiential travel options that combine comfort with environmental stewardship.
This approach offers a model for park owners and glamping operators exploring ways to elevate guest experiences while maintaining a low-impact footprint on surrounding landscapes.
