Amanda Buswell Named Regional General Manager for Hoyt Family Hospitality Portfolio

Amanda Buswell has been promoted to regional general manager for the Hoyt family’s collection of hospitality businesses in New Hampshire, a role that places her in charge of operations and strategic planning across five properties: Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort, Purity Spring Resort, Traditions Restaurant, Camp Tohkomeupog, and King Pine Ski Area.

The announcement was made by the Hoyt family, who have owned and operated the Madison and Freedom-based businesses for more than a century.

Buswell, who became general manager of Danforth Bay in 2024, has spent over two decades with the company, beginning her career as a summer housekeeper before advancing through nearly every department.

“What started out for me as a summer housekeeping job has grown into a career I truly love,” Buswell said.

“To now step into a regional role and help shape the future of all three properties is both humbling and exciting. I’m honored to work alongside a leadership team that’s deeply committed to quality, service, and constant improvement,” she added.

As general manager at Danforth Bay, Buswell is currently leading major improvements to the campground’s amenities, including construction of a $1 million pool facility, development of a new business center, and upgrades to recreational programming and food services. These efforts reflect a broader reinvestment strategy across the Hoyt portfolio.

In her new regional role, Buswell will continue to oversee Danforth Bay while also supporting King Pine and Purity Spring Resort teams in long-term planning, budgeting, and capital projects.

Her expanded responsibilities are part of the Hoyts’ vision to strengthen operations and guest services across all properties.

“It’s exciting to be part of a family of businesses that is so deeply committed to reinvesting in their properties,” Buswell said in a press release.

“The Hoyts have been in hospitality for more than 100 years. Their focus on continuous improvement ensures that we can meet the expectations of today’s guests while honoring the legacy that makes these properties so special,” she added.

Current initiatives under Buswell’s oversight total over $1 million and include renovations to the Evergreen Room event space and snowmaking enhancements at King Pine Ski Area, along with infrastructure and guest experience upgrades at Danforth Bay such as shaded seating and open-air gathering spaces.

Buswell also brings more than 20 seasons of experience managing Guest Services at King Pine Ski Area, a background that deepens her operational insight and cross-property coordination.

The Hoyt family expressed their confidence in Buswell’s leadership, citing her long history with the business and ability to manage with empathy and precision.

“Her long history with our businesses, dedication to the guest experience, and ability to lead with both empathy and efficiency have earned the trust of our entire team,” the family said in a joint statement. “She’s helping ensure that we continue to evolve while staying true to our family’s values.”
