Go RVing has launched a year-long road trip initiative called RV-2-50 in advance of the United States’ 250th anniversary, aiming to encourage travel to historically significant sites through curated itineraries that spotlight the nation’s heritage and diversity.
The campaign began in July and will continue through July 4, 2026, with new itineraries released monthly.
These trips are tailored to fit into various travel lengths, from weekend getaways to multi-week adventures, and include stops at historic landmarks, cultural events, and RV-friendly destinations across the country.
Each itinerary connects travelers to pivotal moments and places in American history. The first three routes include visits to the Washington, D.C. area; iconic Western landscapes such as national parks and the Hollywood Sign; and Midwestern and Southern sites like the Spaceship Water Tower and the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis.
“RV travel has become the quintessential American travel experience because it offers the comfort and flexibility to explore everything just beyond your door,” Monika Geraci, spokesperson for Go RVing and the RV Industry Association (RVIA), said.
“RV-2-50 is more than a series of road trips — it’s a celebration of what makes this country so special,” Geraci said in a News and Insights report of RVIA.
Geraci also emphasized that RV-2-50 encourages travelers to take ownership of their experience and engage with the country’s past and present.
“Whether you’re uncovering hidden gems, visiting iconic landmarks, or simply gathering around the campfire with loved ones, RVing gives you the freedom to experience America on your own terms,” she said.
RV-2-50 also integrates with Go RVing’s broader mission to promote the RV lifestyle through storytelling and education. The campaign builds on the organization’s existing efforts to grow participation in RV travel by showcasing its accessibility and flexibility.
Itineraries will be accessible through Go RVing’s website and shared across its digital platforms, including social media channels and its email newsletter. These tools provide users with maps, campground suggestions, and insights into each featured destination.
