National Go RVing Day, an industry-wide effort to highlight the benefits of RV travel, will take place Saturday, June 14.
Organized by Go RVing, the annual event aims to encourage both newcomers and seasoned RV owners to plan a weekend getaway and experience the flexibility of RVing.
The initiative provides RV dealers, campground owners and operators, manufacturers, suppliers, investors, and industry associations with an opportunity to engage customers and promote outdoor travel.
Businesses are being urged to take advantage of the day to boost visibility and sales.
Go RVing has released a free toolkit to help businesses prepare for the event. According to a News and Insights report of RVIA, the resources include social media graphics, suggested messaging, a customizable press pitch, and a sample blog or website article that can be adapted for email marketing.
Businesses are also encouraged to share content on their social media channels, tag @GoRVing for a chance to be featured, and inspire travelers to plan trips.
“Post to your company’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc.),” the toolkit advises.
In addition to online outreach, RV businesses are encouraged to connect with local media outlets for possible coverage. Suggestions include inviting television, radio, and print reporters to dealerships, campgrounds, or offices for interviews or feature segments.
To further participation, companies are urged to run special promotions or contests in connection with the event. Many operators see the day as an opportunity to attract new customers and remind existing ones of the benefits of RV travel.
Businesses planning to pitch stories to local outlets can request help identifying the right contacts. “We’re here to help—reach out to Mindy Smith at [email protected] before the weekend,” the association indicates.
