National Go RVing Day Campaign Puts RV Travel in Spotlight

National Go RVing Day drew widespread participation from the RV industry over the weekend, leveraging social media and promotional campaigns to encourage more consumers to experience the RV lifestyle.

Companies across the sector organized giveaways, offered discounts, and shared user stories on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, resulting in a surge of positive posts highlighting the appeal of RV travel.

As part of the initiative, Go RVing launched a contest tied to its “Just Beyond Your Door” campaign, which asked participants to describe their ideal RV getaway for a chance to win.

The contest, promoted heavily before National Go RVing Day, generated more than 12 million impressions and 6 million video views, according to a News and Insights report of RVIA on June 17.

Forbes named the contest one of the top summer trip giveaways, further expanding its reach among travel-minded audiences.

Ahead of the day’s celebration, Go RVing announced Rachel Engen of Colorado as the contest winner, an update that reached an estimated audience of over 170 million.

Engen said she was inspired to enter because, “this would make traveling with the kiddos and all our bikes and paddle boards way easier!”

Many other entries echoed similar sentiments, with families and friends expressing a desire to use RVs to travel more conveniently with children, pets, and gear.

Monika Geraci, Go RVing’s senior director of PR and communication, said, “We are incredibly happy that so many companies have embraced National Go RVing Day as a powerful platform to get RVing in front of RVers and future RVers.”

She added that the coordinated effort across the industry helped showcase the accessibility and enjoyment of RV travel to millions of potential new campers.

Next year’s National Go RVing Day is scheduled for June 13, 2026.

Go RVing also developed a toolkit to help industry partners promote National Go RVing Day to their audiences. The materials include a recommended promotional timeline, the official event logo, social media graphics, sample posts, article templates, and a media pitch, all of which can be used as provided or customized to suit specific needs.
