Morgan Stanley to Host OHI Campfire Session on Financial Planning for Campground Owners

OHI will partner with Morgan Stanley to host an exclusive online Campfire Session titled “Stop Leaving Money on the Table – The Complete Wealth Plan for Campground Owners.”

The session is scheduled for October 15 at noon CST and will guide family-owned campground operators on strategies to strengthen financial planning and long-term business value.

The upcoming webinar is designed specifically for private campground and RV park owners who want to better align their personal, business, and financial goals.

According to studies cited by OHI, 93% of business owners receive financial advice only on liquid investments, leaving significant gaps in broader financial planning.

The session will address these challenges through a comprehensive approach that includes business valuation, succession planning, and asset protection.

The discussion will share best practices in structuring a complete wealth plan tailored to the outdoor hospitality sector. The program will focus on how to integrate personal and business finances, which often overlap in family-owned operations.

“This session will teach participants how to align personal, business, and financial goals, grow and protect business value, and create a roadmap for financial security whether transitioning to family, employees, or a third-party buyer,” OHI stated in its announcement.

As part of OHI membership benefits, campground owners will have access to the first two steps of Morgan Stanley’s five-step wealth management process at no cost. Normally valued at $10,000, this opportunity provides participants with an initial financial assessment and a foundation for long-term strategy development.

The five-step process emphasizes understanding the complete financial picture beyond traditional investment planning. OHI said this approach helps owners gain clarity on how personal wealth and business performance interconnect.

Attendees will also learn strategies for tax minimization, debt optimization, and asset protection specific to outdoor hospitality businesses.

Additional discussion topics include how to increase a campground’s market value in preparation for a sale or family succession.

Another major focus of the event will be the importance of professional collaboration. Morgan Stanley’s experts will explain how campground owners can coordinate their CPA, attorney, and financial planner to achieve unified financial outcomes.

By offering real-world examples and scenarios, the session aims to make complex financial concepts accessible and applicable to campground operations of all sizes. Participants will gain practical insights that can be implemented immediately to strengthen their financial footing.

The Campfire Session also reinforces OHI’s mission to help its members achieve long-term business and financial sustainability. Through educational partnerships like this one, OHI continues to deliver tools and programs that extend beyond day-to-day operations.
