Newly painted doors and fresh firepits have been installed throughout the park’s RV campsites. These improvements are part of a broader effort to modernize key locations, improve aesthetics, and give returning campers a reason to explore upgraded sites.
Planned updates include new golf tee signage, expected to arrive by May, while a partnership with Tackett’s Tackle will allow live bait sales on-site. This arrangement aims to make fishing more convenient at peak times and to boost angler participation.
A trail connecting the North RV Campground to the Visitor’s Center is undergoing a Request for Proposal process, alongside a golf cart parking pad near recreational areas. Park staff believe these additions will enhance accessibility for visitors.
The North RV Campground is also eyed for additional sites, pending final approval of an ARPA Local Tourism Asset grant. Once all criteria are met, officials plan to accommodate larger crowds during busy periods.
As part of ongoing habitat management work, crews burned 12.7 acres where woody invasives had been removed and reseeded the area with pollinator-friendly plants. Future plans call for invasive removal, spraying, and replanting on the lake’s northeast side this fall to align with wildlife stewardship goals.
Scheduled events include a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 25 at 1 p.m. for the new Visitor’s Center, an Independence Day celebration on July 5 with fireworks, and a family-oriented Haunted Campground on October 11.
