Lake of the Ozarks State Park (Missouri) has reopened Campground Section 4 following extensive renovations.
The project included upgrades to 25 campsites and the addition of four new yurts.
The renovated section became available for reservations on Aug. 14, including campsites 103-110, 112-120 and 160-167, as well as Yurts C-F. Several sites have been renumbered and encouraged visitors to check the updated campground map before making reservations.
According to a press release, the improvements included full-service sites with water, sewer, and 50-amp electrical hookups. The upgrades were funded through the department’s statewide revenue bond program.
In addition to the campsites, the park introduced four new yurts in Section 2. These round, tent-like structures are designed to give visitors a unique overnight experience while expanding lodging options beyond traditional campsites.
The renovations required closing sections of the campground in November 2024. With the work now complete, the updates will provide modernized facilities to meet growing demand for camping at Lake of the Ozarks.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, to formally celebrate the reopening.
