The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) has completed a series of renovations at Paul B. Johnson State Park in Hattiesburg, reopening 67 upgraded RV campsites now available for reservation.
The enhancements are part of an ongoing effort to modernize the park’s infrastructure and improve visitor experiences.
Online reservations for the renovated campsites are now open, with guests encouraged to secure bookings in advance. The upgrades are aimed at attracting more outdoor recreation enthusiasts to the popular South Mississippi destination.
According to an article published by WJTV 12 on July 3, each of the 67 RV sites now includes full hookups, providing water, electricity, and sewer connections.
The campsites have also been outfitted with new grills and picnic tables to support extended outdoor stays.
Beyond the campsite improvements, MDWFP repaved 47 sites and completed a full renovation of two bathhouses.
The entrance fee to the park is $2 per person, with free admission for children ages five and under. Overnight camping rates vary by site and season, and guests can access detailed pricing through the MDWFP website.
The park features a range of recreational amenities, including a splash pad, disc golf course, and two playgrounds, providing activities for visitors of all ages.
