Roundabout Oxford RV & Water Resort in Oxford, Mississippi, has joined Northgate Resorts’ management portfolio, marking a significant step for the locally founded destination as it opens for its first season.
Developed by Oxford residents Drs. Alison and Andrew Ross along with Cris and Jay Hughes, the resort was envisioned as an investment in the community and a tribute to the RV lifestyle that the founders enjoy.
Northgate Resorts, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, will oversee all management and operations of the property, bringing its expertise in outdoor hospitality to the Mississippi market.
“Roundabout Oxford was inspired by a property already in Northgate’s portfolio, so partnering with them was a natural fit,” Jay Hughes, co-founder of the resort, said in a press release.
The resort occupies 45 acres just west of the University of Mississippi campus and offers 150 RV sites, 20 furnished cottages, and a large aquatics area designed for family recreation.
Amenities include a 1,000-foot lazy river, multiple pools, water slides, and a swim-up bar on both sides, enhancing the resort’s appeal as a destination for both locals and visitors.
One feature unique to Roundabout Oxford is a red phone booth reminiscent of the one found on the Oxford Square, adding a local touch to the guest experience.
Tessa McCrackin, chief marketing officer at Northgate Resorts, said the company is excited to manage a property so closely tied to its founders’ vision.
“You can tell Roundabout Oxford is a project close to the founders’ hearts,” McCrackin said.
“We’ve been excited about it since day one and are thrilled to bring our operational expertise to the resort as we work to deliver an exceptional guest experience this year and for years to come,” McCrackin added.
Northgate Resorts has built a reputation for developing and managing distinctive camping and glamping destinations across the United States, with a focus on family-friendly recreation and quality amenities.
The addition of Roundabout Oxford aligns with Northgate’s strategy to expand its portfolio of immersive outdoor properties and strengthen its presence in the market.
