A Rochester (Minnesota) campground is expecting a big turnout as campers gear up to celebrate the unofficial start of summer.

According to a report, Rochester / Marion KOA Journey general manager Katie Pevehouse said that the campground anticipates 20 families to stop by. She believes that many are just coming to take a break and have fun in the sun with their loved ones. The campground expects most campers to arrive today and stay through Monday.
“We’re very proud and very excited to see our customers come back out and see everybody enjoy the great outdoors. It is very good to not only see customers come out for the holiday weekend but come out just to relax as well.”
Alongside Memorial Day, the busiest weekends at the campground include Father’s Day weekend, Fourth of July, and Labor Day Weekend. Pevehouse suggests anyone interested in staying at the campground book their trip now.

According to the KOA’s 2022 North American Camping Report, camping accounted for more than 40% of all trips made last year.
