Monroe County/Toledo North KOA Expands Amenities With New Pool Project

Two years after closing its swimming pond, the Monroe County/Toledo North KOA has begun construction on a new swimming pool area, according to general manager Trevor Rossknecht.

The new development will feature two pools, a splash pad, a dump bucket, water cannons, and a 3,000-square-foot building that will house a bike and boat shack along with concessions.

Each pool is planned to span 2,400 square feet.High-Tech Pools, the contractor handling the project, is managing a full schedule, and KOA is coordinating work based on their availability.

“This project represents the pinnacle of this campground moving forward,” Rossknecht said, as reported by The Monroe News on April 25.  “It will be the basis of camping memories for generations.”

Although construction is underway, a completion date has not yet been established.

“If we want to have nice quality pools, it’s going to take some time to get them,” Rossknecht said. “And we want to do it right the first time.”

In addition to the current construction, a second phase of the project is planned. Phase two will introduce new campsites, cabins, and a new bathhouse facility to further expand the property.

The addition of modern pool facilities is part of KOA’s broader efforts to update and invest in infrastructure to meet evolving guest expectations.
