Michigan State Parks Announce 2025 Fall Harvest and Halloween Event Schedule

Michigan state parks will hold fall harvest festivals and Halloween-themed events across the state in 2025, with activities scheduled from early September through mid-October.

The annual events feature activities such as hayrides, pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, haunted trails and costume contests. Campers often decorate their campsites for the occasion. These events are open only to registered campers.

Campsite reservations can be made six months in advance. O

Van Riper State Park will host Harvest Fest Weekends on Sept. 5–7 and Sept. 12–14. Wells State Park will hold its Harvest Festival Spooktacular on Sept. 19–20.

Several parks will hold festivals on the weekend of Sept. 26–28, including Bay City, Holland, Onaway, Proud Lake, Seven Lakes, Sleeper, and South Higgins Lake state parks. Young State Park will host its event Sept. 26–27, and Brimley State Park will hold its Harvest Fest on Sept. 27.

Events scheduled for the first weekend of October include the Haunted Halloween Weekend at Harrisville State Park, Oct. 3–5. 

Additional events will take place at Aloha, Bay City, Lakeport, Metamora-Hadley, Mitchell, Port Crescent, Proud Lake, Seven Lakes, Sleeper and Waterloo Recreation Area from Oct. 3–5.

The Sugarloaf Harvest Festival at the Waterloo Recreation Area will also continue Oct. 10–12. Other events that weekend include festivals at Algonac, Bay City, Metamora-Hadley, Tawas Point and Hoffmaster state parks. Hoffmaster will host its Children’s Harvest Festival from Oct. 10–12.

Trick-or-treating at Lakeport State Park is scheduled for Oct. 11.
