Charlie’s RV Resort and Cabins (Michigan) has officially opened in Little Lake, expanding the camping options available in Marquette County with a new facility offering 40 full-service RV sites and multiple log cabins. The resort’s grand opening took place on August 19, marking the start of operations.
Owner Jim Delmont said the new destination helps meet growing demand for lodging and camping facilities in the region.
“There really isn’t a full-service campground besides the Tourist Park. They have 30 sites… Ish, and there’s a need here for it, especially with the cabins,” Delmont said, as reported by 19News on August 19.

The resort provides 40 RV campsites, with water, sewer, 30/50 amp electric. The sites are designed to accommodate a range of recreational vehicles, reflecting a broader trend of increased RV travel across the Upper Peninsula.
For visitors seeking alternatives to RV camping, Charlie’s offers five luxury log cabins, each built to sleep six people. The cabins include full bathrooms, galley kitchens, and large porches intended for extended stays or family trips.
“The cozy, well-equipped cabins provide a homey atmosphere with modern amenities, offering a warm and inviting retreat after a day of outdoor activities. Whether you’re hiking to Pictured Rocks, fishing on the nearby lakes, or exploring the region’s scenic trails,” the campground indicates on its website.

Delmont said additional cabins will soon be available. “We have five cabins open today. Two more are coming later this fall, and then we’ll get to a dozen by spring of next year,” he said.
The development of Charlie’s RV Resort is being welcomed by local officials as a boost to both community amenities and tourism.
“So this is a perfect match for the community, for the central U.P., and for anyone who wants to come up and enjoy our neck of the woods,” said Alan Cook, executive director of Forsyth Forward.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony also marked the opening of the resort’s camp store, which is stocked with essentials for travelers and families. Resort operators say the store will provide a convenient stop for visitors while supporting longer stays at the campground.
Additional amenities at the property include a bath and shower facility and a softball field. The resort is also completing a pavilion designed to host large gatherings such as reunions, weddings, or community events.
“Our pavilion and bathrooms should be open next week, and then we’ll have space for larger events or gatherings,” Delmont said.
The timing of the opening comes as campgrounds across the Upper Peninsula report steady demand from RV travelers and vacationers seeking cabin accommodations. Operators in the area say the region’s natural setting continues to attract visitors from both within Michigan and neighboring states.
