Berry’s Grove Campground has confirmed it will continue operating throughout the year, making it one of the rare campgrounds in Massachusetts to offer winter RV camping directly on the shores of Lake Mascuppic.
According to a press release, the 24-site facility allows guests to enjoy waterfront access no matter the season, reflecting a rising interest in cold-weather outdoor recreation among RV travelers.
The move to maintain year-round operations is part of a larger trend in the RV industry, where modern RVs and improved winterization methods have made four-season camping a realistic option.
Industry insights show that more RVers are seeking off-season trips for unique experiences and quieter settings. At Berry’s Grove, infrastructure such as 50-amp electrical connections ensures visitors can remain comfortable even during the coldest months.
“Winter camping on Lake Mascuppic offers a completely different experience than summer visits,” said the management team at Berry’s Grove Campground.
“Our guests enjoy ice fishing, peaceful lakeside evenings around the bonfire, and the unique beauty of a frozen lake landscape. The decision to stay open year-round means families can experience all four seasons at the same location,” the management team added.
The campground’s location makes it especially appealing to residents of nearby urban centers, with Nashua just 15 minutes away and Boston 45 minutes.
Winter operations are supported by fully functional water and sewer connections, and the private dock allows ice fishing while the swimming area transforms into a scenic winter landscape.
“Many campgrounds close for winter, but we recognized an opportunity to serve RVers who want four-season experiences,” the team said.
Berry’s Grove adapts its recreational offerings to the season, from summer swimming and boating to winter ice fishing and lakeside solitude.
The bonfire remains a focal point year-round, providing warmth and social space, while the management team offers guidance for winter visitors on equipment and preparation.
This development underscores the growing potential for year-round camping in the outdoor hospitality sector. By providing high-quality four-season experiences, Berry’s Grove demonstrates how campgrounds can attract visitors year-round, maximize occupancy, and offer immersive nature-based experiences even in colder months.
