Modern America Campgrounds Acquires Maine’s Thomas Point Beach & Campground

Modern America Campgrounds, the largest RV park owner in the Northeast, announced the acquisition of Thomas Point Beach & Campground in Brunswick, Maine. This acquisition marks the company’s 28th campground purchase over the last two years.

Thomas Point Beach & Campground was established in 1956 by Harry and Marion Crooker and has remained under family ownership until this sale. This 80-acre oceanside property has been a destination for locals and tourists. Modern America was chosen for the purchase due to its commitment to preserving the legacy of the Crooker family while updating the property to meet modern standards.

Modern America Campgrounds intends to have Thomas Point Beach open to the public by mid-May 2025, following planned enhancements.

In a statement, Hunter Vazza expressed excitement about the acquisition, praising Thomas Point Beach as a valuable addition to the company’s growing portfolio. He emphasized the company’s dedication to offering unique and high-quality camping options.

Modern America Campgrounds also implemented various initiatives aimed at benefiting its seasonal campers. One key program allows seasonal pass holders limited free access to other Modern America Campgrounds properties, creating an expansive network of parks for them to explore.

In addition, Modern America Campgrounds has launched the Freedom Trail Pass, which provides access to all locations with limited restrictions during peak season.

The company’s portfolio includes notable destinations such as Bar Harbor Campground, known for its 270-degree ocean view, and Eastern Slope in Conway, New Hampshire, which features a mile of frontage along the Saco River. With the addition of Thomas Point Beach, the company’s portfolio will expand to 33 parks by the start of the 2025 camping season, with five more acquisitions planned.

Furthering its focus on guest loyalty, Modern America Campgrounds plans to roll out a Loyalty Rewards Program in 2025. This program will include discounted pricing and free stays for transient campers.
